13. Tadpole Dock, Black Box - Xi Dama & Scout Ray Chassis

Preparation

High-temperature areas need more supplies and have more aggressive creatures, including high-threat Abyssal Tentacles. Drive the Tadpole carefully.

Requirements: Tadpole, Repair Tool, Power Battery, plenty of supplies (food, water, Medkits). The Tadpole loses durability when attacked — exit and use the Repair Tool. Swap batteries from the top when low.

Investigating the Tadpole Dock

Mark Investigate Tadpole Dock in the Signals page. En route, pass the Mingchan Wreck (Empty Cargo Hold) — enter to unlock database entries.

Park the Tadpole at the entrance. Scan Tadpole Module and Power Transmitter from boxes. Refill oxygen in the Tadpole.

Inside:

1. Right half room — pick up Semicircular Room Recipe from the desk, scan other furniture
2. Left half room — download data from the box. The key door ahead needs Black Box - Xi Dama to open
3. Straight ahead to second room — scan Scout Ray Chassis Module, used later for the Tadpole

After the Main Room

• Right (NW): broken room — pick up Moonpool Recipe, download data by the entrance
• Left (SW): another broken room — scan Processor on the right, pick up Small Box Recipe

After returning to base, interact with NoA to unlock Black Box - Xi Dama signal.

Heading to Black Box - Xi Dama

You’ve unlocked the Scout Ray Chassis but need Lithium to craft it. Head toward the Xi Dama signal, collecting Lithium and Gold along the way.

Bring Repair Tool, Sonic Resonator, etc. Repair and charge the Tadpole at the dock.

Suggested: enable signals for “Chap,” “Xi Dama,” and “Investigate Tadpole Dock.” Craft Beacons for marking key cave entrances.

Route (one possible route):

1. Head toward the “Chap” signal to the sulfur area. Enter the cave between the sulfur and opposite mountain
2. Take the right path into the next cave
3. Head SE toward the next cave entrance, turn right before it — find a small cave at the rock wall base
4. Enter, immediately go down through the right exit
5. Follow the tunnel NE
6. At the end, find lava and water plants — a hole between the plants leads down
7. Continue toward the signal marker, mining Lithium along the way
8. Near the signal, find a cave — enter it
9. Data on the left platform, Medkit in a box, Gra’s Black Box beside the box

Deep Dive

The Tadpole can’t go below ~250 m. Park it at the entrance and continue on your own.

Exit the cockpit and swim into the adjacent cave. At the bottom, scan Thermal Generator 1/2 beside the tentacles. Supply box nearby. Pick up Black Box - Xi Dama above the tentacles next to the supply box.

Mining Area & Route

After picking up the black box, look NW. Enter the large blue-glowing cave with Gold and Lithium deposits (need Sonic Resonator).

Open the Black Box - Chap signal. Look left (south) — find two blue caves. Enter the one with lots of small blue flowers (second from the left). At the first fork, go left toward the Chap signal. Behind the copper deposits, find a cave exit to the surface.

High-Temperature Cave Base

Follow the supply box on the left ground past the copper. Find the collapsed High-Temperature Cave Base. Scan available blueprints inside, interact with the NoA system on the left and view all info.

Afterward, swim up to find lighter surface water, but don’t return yet — visit another bunker on the way.
