After emerging from the cave, look N 30. Spot a small rock cave ahead — enter it.

Go left inside to find the hatch.

Inside:

• Right: scan Power Battery Terminal, Power Storage, download data
• Front desk: pick up Observation Deck Recipe
• Left: use Bio Bed (expand quick-bar slots)
• Left shelf: scan Power Transmitter

Return to base. Use the Processor to make Plasteel Ingot and Strong Acid. Craft Advanced Junction Box and Specialized Core at the Fabricator. Then build the Scout Ray Chassis at the Vehicle Fabricator.

The Scout Ray Chassis attaches automatically to the Tadpole. While piloting, press Q to detach the chassis — the cockpit ejects from the chassis. Approach to re-attach.
